Whale watching in the islands around Vancouver island was a definite highlight - saw some amazing sights. Fantastic northwest food at some top restaurants too. Definitely recommend the area! I did New York on foot and, while nice, we did do a lot less than we could have done. One thing I'd share is the GoodReader app. It's got 'air share' built in and is pretty good for reading PDFs, better zooming and keeping you on the right page.
